We Are Hiring Part-Time Firefighters
Hourly Wage of $23.62/Hr (2026) $25.04 (2027)
Emergency Call Out = Time & Half Pay (2 hr minimum)
12 & 24 hr Shift Work, PAID Training (FIRE & EMS) & Emergency Calls
EMT license bonus ($750.00 per year), Medic ($1,000), IC’s ($1,250)
MERS 457 DEFERRED COMPENSATION PROGRAM: $62.50 per PAY period
HOLIDAY PAY:
1 ½ times pay for holidays worked (New Year’s Eve & Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Day)
Uniforms & turn out gear PROVIDED
ON-THE-JOB TRAINING:
Will offer advanced training opportunities for suppression, medical licensing, HAZMAT, Driver Training, NIMS, Blue Card, and many other areas of specialized training. Paramedic Training Program Reimbursement Incentive
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
MFFTC FF-2 • Hazmat Operations • UNRESTRICTED Michigan Drivers License and MFFTC Driving Certification • Medical Licensure Preferred (MFR, EFR, EMT, Etc.)
12 month probationary period
Chesterfield Township Fire Department provides Fire Protection, BLS non-transport care in cooperation with Medstar EMS, Fire Rescue to include vehicle collision, Technical Rescue, Hazmat response, and Marine rescue.
Frequently, Chesterfield PT Firefighters progress to full time or move on to other fire departments.
